Random Fun and Pretty Things

Can you believe summer is almost over? It has been a BUSY one around here! Below are just a few of the different things I have made for the most amazing shoppers anywhere!

I want to thank EVERYONE for your wonderful response to my little business! Your sweet comments mean so much to me and I appreciate you all so much!
It is a big week around here for us, our third grandchild will be born this Friday and we can't WAIT! For you that know my daughter Rachel, you know that it has been a bumpy road to get this little miss Bree Leighton here safe and sound. We thank God so much for blessing us with her, we raise her up to honor Him and love Jesus. Life is good!!!

I Love it, but where do I put it?

If you are like me, you see lots of things that you love, but don't have a clear idea of what in the world you would do with them when you get them home! I have a very strong personal policy that if I like it enough, there IS a place for it somewhere, drives my hubs crazy! It has been requested by some of you for me to show some of my decorating tips, so I decided to try something different. On occasion, I am going to show you all what I do with some of the things I offer and maybe give you some ideas too!
This is our upstairs bathroom, it belongs to our 11 year old son. The walls are painted a robins egg blue with a metallic silver glaze. Yes, that is a mirror-on-mirror that you see! When we built the house, I hated the standard builder grade mirrors in the bathrooms and unfortunately, they are hung with some sort of adhesive that will probably survive armageddon! So, I did the next best thing and hung a mirror right over the existing one! Pretty clever, huh? I would LOVE to take the credit for this ingenious idea, but I saw it in a magazine a long, long time ago! Love, love, love the look!
You have seen these before, I made this tray for him to keep all his "toiletries" on, he is wearing cologne now, isn't that cute?!
Customized trays $30.00
I am ALL about DIY projects, if I can't find what I am looking for, I will make it myself! I made this shower curtain when I couldn't find one masculine enough for this bathroom, it was really easy. Hint: Hang your shower curtain right below the ceiling line, it looses some of that standard shower look and is much more dramatic!
This canvas has the verse "Sons are a heritage from the Lord" Psalms 127:3
Customized canvas $25.00

Funny story, when Jace saw this, he asked me, "Mom, why are guns a heritage to the Lord?"! What's wrong son, having a hard time reading that fancy Old World script?!!
I hope you picked up a few helpful hints and some new ideas. I definitely enjoyed having you, have a blessed day and come back soon!

This One's For the Boys...

I have had several requests for a canvas for the guys to go along with the proverbs canvas I did for the girls, so here is what I can up with:
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13

I have to admit, it was a nice change to do something masculine for a change! It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but it has some nail head detail, along with a cross that I can put and initial on to personalize it a bit.

As always, I can do any customizing you like!

For Some Graduates and Amazing Teachers

Here are a few things I have been working on here at the Scarlett Boutique...

This is a box I made for my youngest daughter for her Graduation and new apartment. She is decorating black and white, with touches of golden yellow and purple. I love how it turned out!

This canvas and box was made for her roommate.
This hot pink box was made for Claire's Dance Teacher, Ms. Meghan. I had a great time making this box as it fits her personality perfect!
These last few gifts were made for Claire and Owen's SonShine School teachers. The verse reads: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it, Proverbs 22:6.

Congratulations to all Graduates and be sure to thank your teachers as they do an amazing job!

Mothers wear many hats...may all yours be Crowns!!

It has been a very busy couple of weeks at Scarlett Boutique and I want to thank EVERYONE for the awesome response you have had to my things. I cannot tell you what fun I am having creating all these fun things for you guys! I feel like a little girl opening up a new box of crayons everyday, I love it!

Below are just a few of the items I have made for some wonderful mothers, I hope they all enjoy them!

Here are a couple of items I got to make for two (almost three!) very special customers for their Mama. Claire and Owen love to sit with me while I work on my projects, well, Claire does, Owen just terrorizes the place! I thought it would be nice to put each of their handprints on the back of this canvas for a sweet memory and Claire loved every minute of that. But Owen, not so much. You would have thought I was putting his hand in scalding water or flesh eating acid, not just some ordinary red paint! So much for that idea, we got a perfect little handprint from Claire, from Owen, one fingerprint! Anyway, this is for my daughter, a Mom that wears many hats and wears them as well as any queen should. She is going to put this canvas and matching box in her office.

This is a prayer box, special request for a Mama that LOVES pink!

This prayer box is for a special Step-mother, love the quote she requested! This box is for my Mom, I think it is one of my best yet. Hope she loves it!

Happy Mothers Day everyone!

Such Wisdom in these Words...

"If the Shoe Fits...Buy it in EVERY Color."
"A woman's waist size may change... but her shoe size stays true!"
" What becomes of the broken-hearted? They buy shoes."
"Is it time to go home yet? I keep clicking these shoes and nothing happens!"

To all you shoe lovers out there, and you know who you are, here is the ultimate quote from the Queen herself......
"One Shoe can Change your Life."- Cinderella

Are you kidding me? Is that not perfect, or what? As a self-admitted shoe addict, I had to have this in my closet to daily justify my many pairs of shoes (what you can't see is the rows and rows of heels that I have proudly displayed on shelves!).

I don't know why I love heels so much, it has always been that way for me. The good Lord made me that way and I wonder if there will be pretty high heeled shoes in heaven? Hmm, that's a thought...

I like to think of it this way:

The higher the heel, the closer to God!

Go put on your most glamorous high heeled shoes, prance around like the queen you are, and have a fabulous day!

God Bless!

Are you a "Proverbs" Woman?

Everyone needs inspiration. Everyone needs something to remind them of their priorities in life, and if it is sparkly, girly, colorful and fun, even better! I created these small canvases for myself and each of my daughters to put somewhere to see everyday so that we can always be reminded to remember what is important. This Proverbs verse is my absolute favorite, and in this image driven world we live in today, it has never been more important for women to stay focused on what is real.

Charm is deceitful, beauty is vain, but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Prov. 31:30
Each canvas plus easel - $25.00
This one is Tara's, she loves the vibrant peacock colors. She is going to keep hers on her desk at work.

This one is for Nicole, her room is black, red and white. I used chandelier crystals on hers, I love chandeliers, I even have one in my laundry room!

This one is for Rachel, her bathroom is brown and apple green.

This is a picture of where I keep mine, right on my vanity in front of the mirror!

Note: It doesn't really have a blue gem on it, that is a reflection of Rachel's blue dress! She took the picture for me!

As always, I can customize these any way you can think of. If you have a quote you love or something special you want to say, let me know, it can be done.

So, the next time I look in the mirror and see that extra pounds I want to lose, more gray hair, and the dreaded wrinkles, I will be reminded that none of that matters. Be inspired and God Bless!!
